Please take note that you will need to exhaust all means of recourse from the seller, your payment cards issuer/bank and Atome, before filing a claim with Chubb.
For a claim under Online Shopping Fraud and Buyer’s Protection, if you have notified your payment cards issuer/bank and Atome to seek recourse and made attempts to contact the seller to seek for replacement or refund, which you are required to do under the Policy, Chubb will not reimburse you for the losses to the extent to which you have recovered from the seller, payment cards issuer/bank or Atome.
For example:
- If the Insured Item is PHP600 and the bank negates the whole transaction or the seller reimburses PHP600, Chubb will not reimburse.
- If the Insured Item is PHP600 and the seller reimburses only PHP100, Chubb will reimburse the remaining PHP500.
Similarly for a claim under Unauthorized Transactions, if you have notified Atome on the unauthorized transactions on your Atome BNPL Card, and Atome has reimbursed you, Chubb will not reimburse you for the losses to the extent to which you have recovered from the Atome.
